Outdoor Security UGV
Outdoor Security UGV is an underdevelopment project to fulfill the security requirements of large scale facilities like city, energy and military infrastructures but also private homes. It’s a four wheel drive rover, with separate gear motor for each wheel, ensuring that there is always traction even if one wheel is not in contact with the ground. It utilizes skid-steering for direction control, an aspect particularly suitable in rough terrain driving similar to tracked vehicles that allows it to perform 360 degrees rotation about its axis. Its construction is almost entirely out of aluminum to minimize weight.
At the top of the rover, a high definition 30x zoom camera is mounted to a special gimbal that eliminates any vibrations transferred from the rover to the camera. Additionally it gives the flexibility to rotate the camera by 90 degrees on yaw axis while the rover is standstill.
The control of the rover is semi-autonomous with obstacle detection by a dedicated ground control station that runs on several modes, from a preset navigation path of multiple way points to manual teleoperation.
It has several advantages like day and night protection, at any weather conditions, allowing to large entities to decrease security personnel by using the more efficient tireless outdoor security rover.
